About Course

This course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to computer technology and hardware systems. Students will gain hands-on experience with computer components, learn how to assemble and troubleshoot hardware, and explore the fundamentals of computing systems and networks. The curriculum covers key topics such as PC architecture, input/output devices, storage systems, operating systems, and preventive maintenance.

In addition to technical skills, students will develop a foundational understanding of how computers function at both the hardware and software levels. The course is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in IT support or to serve as a stepping stone toward more advanced certifications such as CompTIA A+.

Identify and understand the main components of a computer system (CPU, RAM, motherboard, power supply, etc.)
Assemble and disassemble desktop computers safely and correctly
Install and configure operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux)
Diagnose and troubleshoot common hardware problems
Perform system maintenance and apply basic preventive care
Understand how data storage works, including hard drives, SSDs, and optical drives
Work with input/output devices such as keyboards, monitors, and printers
Learn basic networking concepts, including IP addresses, routers, and network cables
Explore the relationship between hardware and software and how they interact
Follow safety and anti-static procedures while handling computer parts
Prepare for entry-level IT certifications like CompTIA A+
Develop practical skills for real-world tech support and IT environments
